Director Amit Sen

After graduating from the Film & Television Institute of India in 1990, Amit Sengupta has been actively writing, producing and directing short films, documentaries and advertising films . Sen has been involved with the successful production of television commercials, corporate and promotional films, music videos, short films, feature film and the like, providing a full range of services- from research to coordination, filming and post production.

Sen has produced successful commercials for various national and international clients prominent among which are Tata Steel, Titan Watches, Coke, Pepsi, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Britannia, Shalimar, Smithkline Beecham, Marico, Birla Tyres Ltd, Ambuja Cement, P.C Chandra Jewellers, Tata Indicom, Dey's Medical, Keya Seth's Beauty Product, Vijaya Karnataka Newspaper and others.

Amit is, right now, working on a prestigious project, which involves stereoscopic 3D - this will probably be the first S3D project in Bengali. It is based on a short story 'HO JO BO RO LO' for children written by the eminent children's novelist Sukumar Ray, the father of the illustrious film director Satyajit Ray. Amit has been going through various technical training programmes to gear himself up for this shoot.

Amit has directed his maiden film NATOBAR NOTOUT that was a humorous take on modern Bengali poets in Kolkata - and the film was critically acclaimed.

However, Amit's life does not revolve only around films. He is a great food and wine connoisseur. He is extremely popular among for his friends for understated sense of humour. You are never bored when Amit Sen is around.
